(Click each option for more details)
2. REACH OUT TO YOUR FRIENDS
Please reach out to your friends via Facebook here by clicking on the blue button below (or use other social media networks, texting, calling, etc, the way your normally would). Whether you chose to sign up as an official NVA Volunteer (as one of the options offered) or just take things less formally, you can share a post on a page or, even better, message your friends right now and ask them to sign up to register to vote, check the voter registration status, donate to the NVA campaign, or invite them to become a NVA Volunteer. A link to this NVA page is already pre-loaded as part of your message/share so it will be very easy for them to take action. And we hope we’ve made it very easy for YOU to take action right now!
3. DONATE
Every dollar helps and we’ll make them count. Demonstrate your belief in our number-based friends-and-family approach for new voter registration, getting people to the polls and the importance of the 2018 mid-term elections. Please donate as much as you can now. THANK YOU.
4. REGISTER TO VOTE
or confirm YOUR registration status
Register to vote here (or, equally importantly) check the status of your current voter registration. We’ve made this process as easy as possible. Really.
WHY & WHAT
The current U.S. political situation, threatening democracy itself, cannot be left to continue unchecked. The goal of the New Voter Army (“The NVA”) is to register an outcome-influencing number of new voters in 76 Congressional Districts currently deemed competitive/swing across the nation (only 23 seats are needed to flip party control of Congress) and then get those voters and others to the polls in November on Election Day to switch party control of Congress and bend the arc of history.
We are creating a deputized and expertly supported army of volunteers to make that happen – focusing on signing them up primarily via friend-networks on social media.
This initiative is led by Jim Clark with the crucial operational support of Aaron Viles (a highly experienced national field director), coordinating with a national and location press/outreach campaign led by Blair Fitzgibbon (one of the country’s best political PR operatives) to help drive awareness back into supporting the growth of the campaign in a virtuous cycle.
Unlike the traditional voter registration drives which focus on targeting and convincing strangers, the NVA is recruiting a large number of smart, capable volunteers via targeted social media and mainstream media outreach both to register their friends, family and neighbors and to secure small donations to support the implementation and spread of the campaign.
Our goal is to register and get to the polls more than the number of voters that current polling shows is the gap in that Congressional District. This structure – adapted from the walk-a-thon model, where no individual is asked to attempt the impossible and people work with people they largely know in small teams – can create a cumulative impact that can help alter the 2018 mid-term election.
